Moisture damage in bathrooms is very common. Tenants tend to neglect to operate a bath fan, even when available. We have found the installation of a bath fan, and combining the fan switch with the light switch to be the most effective approach (only one light switch that also turns on the bath fan). Tenants then must bring in a portable lamp to avoid hearing the sound of the fan.
Owners of condos should be aware of special assessments. Most Homeowners Insurance policies offer insurance for this. At least one of our customers would have purchased this endorsement for $20.00 per year. His assessment for a new roof was $13,000.00.
