Helpful tips when relocating to Portland:

• Give yourself ample time to avoid frustration. Most Property Management Companies are not open on weekends (we show properties by appointment only). The best opportunity to find what you are looking for is during the work week. Also, most companies require the prospective Tenant to drive by the property prior to setting an appointment to view the inside.
• There are companies that will help you find a property for a fee. Large companies typically contract these relocation companies when they have corporate movement (expensive service). We have one company listed under "Vendors". See "Rental Relocation".
• Browse the vacancies in your desired areas as soon as possible. Most vacancies are filled within a 30-day period. This will help you understand the rental prices.
• Our policy is once one has applied, and been approved to rent, one must begin paying rent within 14 days. The reason for this policy is this; most people either need a property today or they need to give a 30-day notice from their current residence. The 14-day policy is consideration for the people who need to give a 30-day notice.
• Purchase a Thomas Guide Map Book. These are conveniently sized, time savers, and invaluable at times. Most Property Managers include Thomas Guide Map Book coordinates on their listings.
